Overview:  Calcite belongs to the calcite group, a group of related carbonates that are isomorphous with one another. It constitutes a major portion of many of the earth's rocks. A microcrystalline type of Calcite in globular form is common in certain regions. This Calcite forms from precipitating calcium-rich water inside caverns or on limestone cliffs.

Healing Power:  Calcite is indispensable in the construction industry, forming the base of cement. Many important chemicals are created from Calcite, as well as useful drugs. It helps us to replace fears and old ways with new healthier habits. Clears energy blockages, stabilizes soul potential and life purpose. Soothes anger, creates a readiness for peaceful change in one's life, brings inner peace and quiet within.

Legend:  Almost all of the "alabaster" artifacts of ancient Egypt are actually made of calcite. The gemstone was even used as an inlay on the throne in the tomb of King Tutankhamen, which dates to around 1340 BC . Mystics today consider Calcite to be an energy amplifier.
