Overview:  The name Leifite was dedicated to Leif Ericson, the tenth-century Scandinavian mariner and explorer. The mineral was first discovered in 1915 at Narsarsuk in Greenland. Leifite is one of the rare minerals that can form in silica starved, unique chemical environments.It forms in rare rocks known as Agpaites which are igneous rocks of unusual concentrations.

Healing Power:  Leifite is very rarely used as a gemstone but it is quite popular among mineral collectors.
